Tickled Pink

I Had A Winner!

I had a drawing the other day here at “Tickled Pink Tammy.” The winner was to be drawn on Saturday morning! Guess what…I forgot to post the winner. I did the drawing, then walked away from the computer. I got so involved in starting to cut through the massive amount of “stuff” stored in the basement to be donated,  that I forgot to go back and finish what I started!

Anybody else relate to that scenario?

Without further time wasting – the winner of Saturday’s drawing is….Janice!!!

I will deliver your goodies this week, Janice! No really, I will! Plus, I can sneak a peak at those lovelies coming off the Gammill in your studio! Tee Hee Hee!!

And while we are all talking about Janice, the winner, I would like to take this moment and say a word or two about this fine lady. I can do that, because it’s my blog!

This lady is a fine lady. She is a professional quilter whose work wins ribbons upon ribbons upon ribbons for quilters in our area. Her own personal quilts are beautiful as well with some ribbons on their own. Many ladies will show their quilts at show and tell at local quilt guild meetings and will others will immediately ask, “who did your quilting, Janice? Yep, it looks like her work.” Not only is she a wonderful quilter, but she is a very kind hearted woman to all who cross her path. There are so many things I’d love to share about her, but I’m thinking she just may smack me for gushing over her when I deliver her winnings!

But what I would love for you to do, is check out her new blog she started this year (as well as her business sites). I now see she has another talent with this new blog! I am so excited to count this lady as my friend. Love you, Janice!

Check out her blog Janice Loves to Quilt or check out her Facebook page for her business: Ewetree or check our her webpage Ewetree should you need her beautiful services. Just click on the links within the last sentence to get to know one of my quilting friends a little bit more! It will be well worth the visit!!

And with that my dear “Tickled Pink” friends, I will close out this post. As I sit here in the beautiful and warm sunshine beating in the window at my local Panera’s, my prayer for you this week is to find something that makes you laugh. It’s not that hard if you try!

Whaddya say – anything make you just “Tickled Pink” this week? Don’t keep it to yourself, share it will all of us!

Now…share below what has brought laughter or at least a smile into your life this week, but only  AFTER you go visit my friend Janice’s sites to see all the beautiful quilts she has done! Hey, consider it a free quilt show, no admission cost!

…and that’s all I have to say about that!

Dream Big!

Have you ever felt God whispering something to you, and you’re just so sure it’s only in your head, and it most assuredly couldn’t be God telling you to do it. The thought just doesn’t seem logical and surely you are missing the message? Shouldn’t it be someone else? God could really find someone better suited for the task.
You go about your life ignoring the gentle whisper. Then it comes back again. Nah, it couldn’t be, now you’re just thinking you want to do this, so you are convincing yourself that it’s God “saying” it. But you choose to go on about your daily life ignoring this thought.
Rats, then it returns again. And you begin the mental arguments that go on and on, sometimes for months. Then the proverbial 2 x 4 to the head slaps you so hard you just cannot fight it any longer.
Yeah – that just happened to me last week!
So what on earth do you do with it? Well, you can continue on the path of ignoring it and live in the inner turmoil of knowing you’re not walking in obedience to God OR, you can chose the better path and give up the fighting!
I’m Tickled Pink to say that I have finally given up the fighting!
I began moving forward on a dream I’ve had that God has been pushing me more lately to just “go for it!” Paths have changed, doors have opened and it seems the time has come.

I received this in the Fall as a gift, but hadn’t set it out.
It now sits to the left of my computer, so I can see it every day I write!

What about you? Have you ever had a dream that you weren’t sure it was something you should pursue? Have you felt led by God to do something, but second-guessed if it was truly from God? I would really love to hear your thoughts on this. Okay, mostly for my own encouragement…but possibly someone else needs the encouragement of those of you who have followed God’s leading and stepped in faith with your dream. Share in the comments, I’m hoping I’m not the only obstinate child here!
Oh – you know what we need here…another giveaway! Giveaways make me Tickled Pink – ’cause I love giving gifts! What do you say? Ready for one? Up for grabs this time is the following:
This package includes a mini-mani set, a 3 pack of notes and a pen!
So, enter your comments below by midnight, April 26, 2013– and I’ll randomly choose a winner in the morning on Saturday, April 27, 2013!

What’s With Elephants?

http://www.dreamstime.com/african-elephants-free-stock-photo-imagefree230385

Recently, I have pondered the use in a couple different sayings or clichés regarding elephants. Thinking on them I began to get all “Tickled Pink” and some of my own thoughts around these well-known sayings began to surface. For instance:
            1. “How do you eat an elephant?”
                                    “One bite at a time!”
Really? Seriously now, who came up with that one? Like who would be eating an elephant? I’m fully aware that the thought was that an elephant is so huge; many would be puzzled as to where to start. I don’t know about you, but I certainly would not be thinking about where to start – my thought would be more in tune with “what the heck do you want me to eat an elephant for?” And never mind the one bite at a time prospect, I am not fond of meat, so that one bite would either a) take me an hour or more to chew and TRY to swallow or b) be spat out within milliseconds of touching my lips. And that’s to say that it got that far!
Then the second elephant saying that has me pondering with quite the “Tickled Pink” kind of giggling is:
            2. “And let’s talk about the elephant in the room.”
Honestly, my first thought when I hear people say this is to shout – “Oh my goodness, how did someone get an elephant in this room?” Or – “who you calling an elephant – how rude!”
Before you think I have hatred toward elephants and start sending me “Save the Tusks” literature, that’s not what I’m saying! I’m just trying to figure out what do elephants have to do with the situations people are trying to discuss? No wonder people say that the English language is the hardest to learn!
How about we just say what we mean:

                        1. “How do you handle a difficult situation?”
                                    “One step at a time!”
                        2. “Yo, am I the only one that sees this? Why are the rest of
                                    you ignoring the obvious here?
Which saying or cliché is one that always makes you stop to ponder? Share it in the comment section so we can all have a giggle or two and make today a “Tickled Pink” kinda day!
Oh, and no elephants were harmed in this post, nor were their feelings hurt! And please do not start sending me little elephant statues…I’m really okay without them!!
…and that’s all I have to say about that!
