Five Minute Friday!

Okay bloggy friends – it’s Friday again and so you know what that means!  Okay – so if you’re just visiting here for the first time it’s Five Minute Friday.  We are given a word that we “have” to write about.  We set a timer and write until it buzzes.  But I’m gonna be honest with you here.  This is my second week and that timer goes off way too fast!  I wrote this below and the buzzer went off and I was like:  “HEY – I’m not done!”  But I followed the rules and finished so I could post it here.  I will be linked to a bunch of other girlies doing this very same thing, so please go over and pick a button or two and see what they came up with!  Here it is, folks!

START
WELCOME
You’re welcome.  Welcome home.  Welcome back.  We welcome you.
You are welcome to.
This one word used so many different ways, yet do we really mean it when we say it?  When we tell someone “you’re welcome” do we sincerely mean it?
What about when we have someone into our home. Do we show a welcoming spirit to them?  It doesn’t even have to be our homes, just into our presence—into our space if you will.
Are we actually inviting or welcoming to be around?  Do we evoke a presence that others would want to come over to? Do we give off the feeling that we just can’t wait for you to engage in conversation with us?
I hope we do.  I hope I do.
STOP

Ta da!  And there you have it!  If you want to play along (and if you’re a blogger, I highly recommend it!!) just click on the badge over on the right sidebar entitled “Five Minute Friday”. It’s easy to sign up and it starts at midnight every Friday!  C’mon and join in the fun!

…and that’s all I have to say about that!

  1. Ahh, Tammy you and I were on the same page! I wrote for the first time in three weeks on fmf, felt great to write again. I often wonder how welcoming I am to my own grown up kids when they drop in!

    1. Nancy, that’s funny we both went there! It’s fun seeing where everybody goes when you write, then go check every else’s page!

  2. Tammy, I’m with you! I have done two 5-Minute Fridays so far, and the timer does go off WAY too quickly! Nice job! I never thought about how many different ways we use “welcome.”

    1. Julie – isn’t this fun, though! Yeah, that timer is a crazy thing. Now, waiting for an appointment–that 5 minute would take for-ever!
